Accenture Online Assessment

Vendor · Accenture in-house

Officially confirmed

For some roles, an online activity taking approximately 30 to 90 minutes depending on proficiency level, completed in one sitting typically within 72 hours, automatically scored.

Accenture states it is one part of the process and does not replace interviews. Australia's strategy graduate route adds a virtual assessment centre with a team activity and case study, then a leader interview.

The six steps Accenture publishes

Accenture describes its process as confirming receipt, reviewing your application, reaching out, meeting you, assessing your skills, and offering you a role. On timing it commits to something specific: "you should hear from us within about a week regarding your application outcome."

The assessment step is deliberately loose in the firm's own wording: "for some roles, we may ask you to complete an online activity so we can learn more about your technical skills." The only assessment Accenture describes in any detail is a technical one, taking "approximately 30-90 minutes, depending on your proficiency level," to be completed in one sitting typically within 72 hours, automatically scored, with the number of correct answers determining your total. Accenture states it "is one part of the overall hiring process and does not replace interviews."

For strategy candidates, the more relevant published route is Australia's graduate pipeline, which names the stages: application, eligibility and CV review, an HR touchpoint, a virtual assessment centre including a team activity and a case study, then a final one-to-one interview with an Accenture leader.

The best free asset Accenture publishes

Accenture hosts a full Case Interview Workbook, and its own recruiters point candidates to it. It gives the format directly: "case interviews typically last from 45 to 60 minutes, with a focus on the case itself lasting 30 to 45 minutes."

It also publishes the six-stage method the firm wants to see: listen to the case, clarify the problem, decompose the problem, state hypotheses, test hypotheses, summarise findings. Sample cases in the workbook include a furniture retailer with declining profits, an airport franchise decision, estimating the number of dry cleaners in Philadelphia, and estimating attendance at a free concert in Central Park.

Accenture's separate case tips add three practical instructions: take your time and talk through the problem, stay flexible because the focus of a case may shift, and use pen and paper to sketch your thinking rather than holding it in your head.

The AI policy, which is the clearest of any firm here

Accenture publishes both halves. Permitted: researching the firm, tidying grammar, tone and structure on your CV as long as the final version "reflects your real story," and rehearsing questions with AI feedback. Prohibited: generating false experiences or qualifications, completing assessments unless explicitly allowed, using AI during interviews to generate answers, and voice cloning or deepfake tools. Breach can mean disqualification.

On its own use of AI in hiring, Accenture states that "the decision to move the candidate to the next recruiting stage (including any final decision) will always be made by the hiring team," that candidates are not ranked, and that opting out of AI screening carries no disadvantage.

Timing

Accenture publishes programmes rather than dates. UK Strategy graduate roles run through its own application portal across Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Newcastle. US campus hiring routes through events and university career services.
