The clearest online test spec any strategy firm publishes
OC&C states it in the vacancy itself: a 30-minute numerical and logical reasoning test. No hedging, no "may be required."
The US Associate Consultant 2027 posting lays out the whole funnel in order: CV submission with your name and contact details removed and a cover letter required, then the 30-minute online test, a review process, a first round of two 30-minute virtual case interviews, a second round of two 45-minute case interviews with Associate Partners and Partners, then the offer.
The anonymised CV is not a formality. OC&C screens on content, and its own line on recruiting is "no tricks, no secrets, nothing up our sleeves, we want you to succeed."
The process changes by office, and OC&C publishes each one
From the firm's own graduate brochure:
- London: CV, online testing, two 30-minute interviews (cases for Strategy, technical for Analytics), then two 45-minute case interviews.
- Rotterdam: CV, motivational letter and transcripts, one online numerical test, then a 45-minute motivational interview, a 60-minute case and a 90-minute written case study interview, then three 60-minute case interviews. This is the only written case OC&C publishes anywhere.
- Paris: CV and cover letter, online test, two 60-minute cases, then two 60-minute cases with partners. Rolling recruitment excluding July and August.
- Munich and Düsseldorf: online test, then two rounds of two 45-minute case interviews. German at C1 minimum plus English.
- Warsaw: online testing, two 45-minute cases, an HR interview, then two more 45-minute cases.
- Australia and Greater China: online test, then case rounds.
OC&C does not name the vendor behind the test, and publishes no question count, pass mark, or information on whether it is adaptive.
Automated screening, and the exception
OC&C discloses that part of its graduate and internship process "uses automated decision making which is necessary for us to determine whether or not you meet our minimum degree classification requirements." It also builds in a route around it: candidates can submit mitigating circumstances, and "where such information is provided, this would always be manually reviewed."
Deadlines matter more here than at most firms
OC&C is explicit that it does not decide as it goes: "while we screen our applications on a rolling basis we don't make decisions until after the deadline." Feedback follows within three weeks of closing.
As of late August 2026, the US Associate Consultant 2027 deadline is 6:59pm ET on Friday 11 September 2026, and the US Summer Internship 2027 deadline is 7pm ET on 18 September. UK graduate applications typically open in early September with deadlines in early to mid-November, and the internship opens in early October with a mid-January deadline.
One genuine shortcut exists. The OC&C Stratathon, a strategy case run in hackathon format at the London office, fast-tracks its winner straight to first-round interview for the Analytics track, with second and third place skipping to the technical online test.
